Explorer Scouting in St Albans

Explorers is the Scouting section for 14-18-year-olds. Unlike Beavers, Cubs, and Scouts which Groups run, Explorers is run at a District Level. All Young Leaders who help with other sections are automatically members of Explorer Scouting in St Albans.

Explorers participate in more adventurous activities, and get much more involved in running the unit; contributing programme ideas, and organising camps. Whilst in Explorers you can work towards the Chief Scout’s Diamond and Platinum Awards as well as the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award if you are not doing this through your school. Explorers is an opportunity to make new friends, to take part in activities you may not have tried before, and to develop your scouting skills further. And when you turn 18 you can join the Scout Network!

The Al Fihri Explorer unit meet every wednesday at 6.00 pm – 7.30pm at The Cotton Mill Community Centre, off Old Oak, Cottonmill Ln, St Albans AL1 2EF .
